Summary[edit | edit source]

Template:Information Template:Location 33KV substations were designed prior to the emergence of ring feeder arrangement. In the original design the substations were only feeding to the consumer side on the assumption of fixed load (at the consumer end). With the emergence of large sized fluctuations due to differential between planned load and actual load (due to temporal issues), the substations and the dependent distribution network started experiencing excessive voltage stress, leading to instrument heating and consecutive failures. Ring feeder arrangement ensured that the ensuing brown-outs and black outs were not a recurring event as the payload cycle changed during the 24X7X365 timeframe.
